Hahaha this is awesome, "can't touch this!", "It's just a flesh wound!", and the fact that male paragons got the best dance ever totaly makes me want one.

Gonna make a dervish first, ofcourse.

From the official site!

"Can't Touch This!"
Either they didn't explain it clearly..or this skill is way too powerful. It's a shout that causes all touch skills to fail...or is it the "next" touch skill to fail?

Signet of Illusion
Here's the official word on this awesome signet: "...which will make the next spell you cast use your Illusion attribute instead of its normal attribute."

That shout is a brilliant addition to the game, it wouldn’t become overused as sacrificing primary or secondary profession for just that one skill will completely alter the builds. It will balance it up nicely. I don’t believe touch are overpowered particularly at present as crippling and slowing hexes will destroy a team.

MORE IMPORTANTLY

I’m going to spend the next month praying that signet of illusion won’t be an elite (although in fairness it most likely will). All those options! You will be able to run spells from other bars with no attributes in that skillbar. How wonderful! My spike idea just got a lot more potent! Oh yes! I’m a happy little Mesmer now.

If it’s an elite though hopefully it’s recharge wouldn’t be higher than 40 seconds.

Oh yes, this is really exciting
And of course you don't have to use "stolen" spells - why not equip a spell from your secondary profession? Like a me/ele packing chain lightning without any pints in air magic. Or even use mesmer spells from an attribute tree you wouldn't use otherwise... Damn, I should stop creating new builds in my head based on this signet when I don't even know the req. or recharge ;D

I sort of see the usefullness of that skill now ...
You guys are missing the beauty of this skill. don't mess with Inspire Hex or Arcane Thievery. Just put the damn skill you want on your skillbar!

Think of it - you can put a skill from your secondary on your skillbar and use it at max power without putting any points into the attribute. This would even let you take skills from the primary attribute of your secondary profession, which you don't normally use.

Sig of Illusion -> Double Dragon - Powee! (assuming its not elite of course lol).
Sig of Illusion -> Animate Vam. Horror - Yummy! (or whatever that badass spell is called)

Since the recharge is likely to be long, it would work best on spells that also have long recharges.

Regarding "Can't Touch This!", maybe I misread but I thought it said this was an Elite, meaning quit crying about it's power. There are lots of powerful elites.

on illusion sig-

if its elite, you can always bring that other mesmer skill, to copy your teammates' elite.

and, as an elite... Id say a 40 second recharge would be too much... Im thinking more like 20 seconds... but hey I dont work for ANet so who knows.

Elite Hammer Attack. If Hammer hits, target foe is throwed back and then knocked down 1...5 second(s).
That would be the best single target knockdown hammer elite in the game...

Default New Skills: The End Of Touch Rangers!

The Guildwars Website has released three new skills:

Dervish:

GRENTH'S GRASP {E}
Causes all of your attack skills to Cripple as long as a cold damage weapon is used.

Mesmer:

Signet of Illusions
Makes your next spell use the Illusion magic attribute.

and...The Toucher nerf:

Paragon:

"Can't Touch this!"
Causes all 'touch' skills used against you to fail.

While "Can't touch this" will obviously hurt touch rangers, we really have no idea how much. We'll need to see things like cost, duration, and recharge time. Also, upset Touch Rangers should realize that not everyone will be a paragon or have a paragon secondary.

Personally, I think it will be equally interesting to see how this skill effects other elements of the metagame like blackout mesmers and shock warriors.

I dont think they're elites either...well at least not the mesmer/war skill...im sure the necro one is, either that or it has some big drawback...either way, its nice to have a counter to touchers for wars and necros i guess.
